For over a week, market participants have been discussing the US labor market and its prospects. Therefore, it was perplexing to me that the dollar strengthened after it became known that Kevin Warsh would be the new chair. Recall that in the past, Warsh held a "hawkish" view of the Fed's monetary policy. But those days are gone. Before Warsh could officially become the sole candidate for the vacant position after Jerome Powell's departure, he announced that he would adopt a more "dovish" stance.
Trump himself has made another statement. The US president said he expects Warsh to lower interest rates, otherwise he will sue him. This is one of those instances where there's no jest in the jest. If you don't believe it, look at Trump's current relationship with Powell.
