The InstaSpot Loprais Team De Rooy FPT, featuring Aleš Loprais, Pavel Vršecký, and Darek Rodewald, completed the 2026 Dakar Rally with an impressive second place finish in the truck category. This outstanding achievement mirrors their success at Dakar 2024, confirming the team's status among the world's elite rally competitors.
Thirteen demanding stages tested the team's endurance, skill, and determination. From a dramatic victory on Stage 1 to recovering from a collision with Martin Macík on Stage 8, the team demonstrated exceptional performance and unwavering resilience.
Pavel Vršecký shared his thoughts: "Dakar 2026 was one of our toughest challenges. We had victories, technical difficulties, and even that dramatic moment on Stage 8 when we flipped in the dunes. But we never gave up. The entire team worked as one unit, and our second place finish is the result of our collective effort and belief in each other."
Second place confirms Aleš Loprais's status as one of the world's best Dakar Rally drivers. Pavel Vršecký demonstrated masterful navigation skills in the harshest desert conditions. Darek Rodewald, an experienced mechanic and three-time Dakar winner, proved once again that his expertise is invaluable – this marks his eighth podium finish.
The path to the finish was challenging. On Stage 10, the team climbed to second place overall, but technical issues on Stage 12 tested their will to win. When Red Dragon flipped in the dunes, rival competitors helped them continue the race. This moment could have broken a weaker team, but not the InstaSpot Loprais Team.
