净成交量指标(OBV)是一种与价格变化量有关的动量技术指标。约瑟夫·格兰维尔发明的OBV是一种十分简单的指标。如果当期收盘价高于前期收盘价，当期的交易量加入前期OBV；如果当期收盘价低于前期收盘价，当期交易量从前期交易量中扣除。
净成交量分析以OBV先于价格变化而变化的原则为基础。根据该原则，净成交量增加代表着专业投资进入市场。随后大众投资跟进，净成交量迅速增加。
如果价格先于OBV变动，就产生了一个“未确认(non-confirmation)”。未确认可以发生在牛市的顶端(当价格升高而OBV未增长或先于价格增长)或者熊市的底部(当价格开始下跌而OBV没有减少或先于价格减少)。
当新峰位高于前一个或新低谷高于前一个时，OBV处于上升趋势中。同样地，OBV的下降趋势伴随着连续降低的峰和谷。当OBV水平震荡时意味着趋势不明。
如果趋势停止，价格将停在原位直到突破发生。趋势突破可能有两种：从上升趋势变为下跌趋势或相反，从下跌趋势变为上升趋势。
在第二种情形中OBV变得不明朗，并将持续模糊3个以上的时期。因此，如果上升趋势变为趋势不明，仅震荡两天然后变回上升趋势，OBV在这段时间内被认为是上升的。
当OBV趋势改变方向为上升或下降，即为"突围"发生。OBV突围常预示着价格突破。如果OBV向上突围，投资者应该持有多头；向下突围，应该卖出。已有头寸应继续持有，直到趋势改变。
如果今天的收盘价高于昨天的收盘价，则：OBV(i) = OBV(i-1)+VOLUME(i)
如果今天的收盘价低于昨天的收盘价，则：OBV(i) = OBV(i-1)-VOLUME(i)
如果今天的收盘价等于昨天的收盘价，则：OBV(i) = OBV(i-1)
其中：
OBV(i) - 当期指标值；
OBV(i-1) - 前期指标值；
VOLUME(i) - 当期成交量。
