歐洲天然氣期貨連續第二個交易日上漲，因為夏季高溫持續升溫，加上中東外交緊張局勢再起，蓋過了全球供應中斷短暫緩解的影響，並在秋季補庫存採購季前加劇市場對供應的憂慮。
歐洲基準指標——荷蘭前月天然氣期貨合約——在早盤上漲2.2%，報每兆瓦時（MWh）43.43歐元，徘徊在三週高位附近。英國同類合約則上漲1.8%，至每百萬英熱單位103.54便士。
市場的一大推動因素，是美國與伊朗官員在卡達杜哈預定舉行的會談突然破裂。這一僵局重新引發外界對霍爾木茲海峽周邊穩定局勢的憂慮——該海峽是全球液化天然氣（LNG）運輸的關鍵航道，約有20%的全球LNG運量經此通行，其中相當一部分來自卡達。
歐洲大陸正遭遇的極端季節性高溫進一步推升壓力。創紀錄的高溫推動空調用電需求激增，迫使發電廠消耗更多天然氣發電。
目前這波天然氣價格上漲，延續了第二季的劇烈波動，當時基準價格自三月每兆瓦時高於 73 歐元的高點回落超過 20%。先前那一波回調，主要是因為中東緊張局勢一度緩和，以及冬季結束後供暖需求季節性轉弱所致。
不過，基本面依然吃緊：目前區域天然氣庫存約為 48% 滿，遠低於一年前的 56%，也明顯低於過去五年 61% 的平均水準。
由於庫存回補進度較往年緩慢，只要全球 LNG 供應出現持續中斷，或夏季高溫延續，就可能在秋季採購旺季之前，再度引發天然氣價格大幅飆升。
