Marvell Technology Group Ltd is a US producer of storage, communications, and consumer semiconductor products. The company’s shares are traded on NASDAQ under the MRVL symbol. The initial public offering on June 27, 2000 raised $90 million.

Marvell was founded in 1995. As of 2013, the personnel comprised 7,500 employees. The US headquarters are situated in Santa Clara, California. International think tanks operate in Canada, Europe, Israel, India, Singapore, and China.

Its engineering activity focuses on digital processing of signals, architecture of microprocessors, hard drives, Bluetooth, and wireless networks. Marvell produces more than one billion integrated circuits known as chips per year. The company used to supply Wi-Fi chips for the original (first-generation) Apple iPhone.

Marvell manufactures a wide range of products including high-end processors, broadband and wireless transceivers, memory controllers, and LED-processors.

In the course of its operation, Marvell has acquired a dozen of smaller hi-tech companies to enter new markets. Among the biggest deals are Galileo Technology, PicoMobile Networks, Xelerated, Printer ASIC, and SOC.
